Winter Short-term Chinese Language Program (2019)
1. Curriculum and Activities
Courses: Mainly Chinese courses including Listening Comprehension, Conversation and Reading. This program is provided at three levels: beginning, elementary and intermediate. (Each level will be available only if there are more than 10 students.)
Courses load: 4 teaching hours each morning (8:30-11:50), Monday through Friday. Also available are elective courses such as Chinese Calligraphy, Taijiquan (shadow boxing) and Chinese Paper Cutting. The minimum enrollment for each course is 20 students. These courses are taught in the afternoon.
Activities: Inner city tours are offered once a week.

2. Timeline and Application
1) The program has one session from January 14 through February 1, 2019. You can choose to study for one week, two weeks or three weeks. The registration date is January 14, 2019.
2) Applications deadline is December 1, 2018. The program provides flexible schedules and additional courses for group applications, which could be discussed with the Office of International Student Affairs in advance.
3. Application Qualifications
Applications are open to foreign citizens with reliable financial support and stability who are over 16 and under 60 years old and in good health.
4. Application Documents and Procedures:

1) SISU Application Form (Short Term Programs).
2) 2 passport photos (in size of 5cm * 4cm).
3) Photocopy of passport.
4) Application fee: 450 RMB (or overseas transfer of 75 USD).
Procedures:
1) Fill in the application form online, download and print the form and sign your name. (http://www.oisa.www.wcrra.com)
2) Submit all the application documents to Office of International Student Affairs, Shanghai International Studies University. (Address: Room 202, Teaching Building 2, 550 West Dalian Road, Shanghai 200083, P. R. China)
★ Application fee is non-refundable, payment can be made online or in cash or remittance (T/T). Checks are not acceptable. A remittance with student’s name must be made payable to:

5. Acceptance and Visas
1) SISU checks applicant’s application materials.
2) Once accepted, the applicant will receive an acceptance letter.
3) With the letter, the applicant can go to the nearest Chinese Embassy or Consulate for visa application (X2 only).
6. Registration
The applicant should bring the acceptance letter and passport to register with SISU at due time when tuition and other fees are payable. Should the applicant be late, he/she will have to inform the Office of International Student Affairs in advance. Or, his/her enrollment could be revoked.
