In January 2016, Translation and Interpretation Academy has established by SISU.

基地的主要任务为，发挥高级翻译人才培养和国别区域研究优势，积极开展孔子学院发展战略研究，制定汉语高级翻译人才培养标准，结合“一带一路”战略，培养培训海外青年翻译家和高端翻译人才；编写岀版非通用语种中外文对照词典；开发研制流行语中外文比较教材等。

The academy will draw on SISU's strengths in T&l training and global studies, and thereby conduct academic explorations into the development strategy of Confucius Institutes, and formulate standards for overseas training Chinese translators and interpreters, in alignment with the Belt and Road Initiative. The academy will also compile and publish dictionaries of Chinese to less commonly spoken languages, and develop bilingual and multilingual textbooks for teaching and comparing popular expressions.

2016年4月，基地首次组织“汉语教师志愿者选拔考试”，至今累计组织“汉语教师志愿者选拔考试” 11场。

In April2016, the Academy organized the first selective examination of Chinese teacher volunteers, and up to now, it has organized 11 such examinations.

2018年3月，基地首次承办汉语教师志愿者岗前培训，至今累计承办培训3批次，共270人。

In March 2018, the Academy hosted the first pre-assignment training camp for Volunteer Chinese Teachers. Up to now, it has organized 3 training camps, open to 270 people.

2016年10月，《孔子学院外向型汉英双语学习词典》正式立项。当前基地稳步推进《孔子学院外向型汉英双语学习词典》编写工作，建立专兼职专家队伍，积极尝试开发编辑平台，定期召开词典工作会、工作坊，举办学术讲座。

In October 2016, the Academy started to compile a Confucius Institute's Chinese Learner's Dictionary. As the project moves on, a team has been built consisting of full-time and part-time members. The team has managed to develop a dedicated online platform, and held work meetings, workshops and lectures on a regular basis.
