The Fourth Conference on Interdisciplinarity in Translation and Interpreting
Recalibrating Training and Research in T&I:
New Interdisciplinary Incentives
AIMS & SCOPE
Following the tradition of Interdisciplinary Research Center (IRC) at GIIT, SISU, this Fourth Conference on Inter-disciplinarity in Translation and Interpreting (T&I) aims to provide a platform for scholars, and young researchers in Translation and Interpreting Studies (T&I) and the academic and professional actors from wider fields to exchange ideas and communications to advance the T&I research.
This year, the outbreak of COVID-19 and its quick spread across the world have presented unprecedented challenges. Despite the uncertainties, we would very much want to keep our dialogues and exchanges going. Never before in our recent memory have we been made so acutely aware of our interconnectedness in global governance. It is therefore highly pertinent to use intercultural and interdisciplinary perspectives to forge new pathways and collaborations between different disciplines in finding solutions and strategies to tackle both old and new challenges.
You are invited to join our special two-day event via Zoom on October 29-30, 2020, to address the following themes:
- Session 1 Role of Language Services in Global Governance
- Session 2 Multilingualism in Multilateral Systems: Interdisciplinary & Intercultural Issues
- Session 3 How T&I Supports Science in Coping with PHEIC?
- Session 4 New and Fresh Approaches in T&I
