Inclusiveness and Integrativeness of Pragmatics

  • Pragmatics is an interdisciplinary field concerned with social reality.With the theme on social marginalization and its relevant issues in the 16th International Pragmatics Conference, the 17th one shifted focus onto the pragmatics of inclusion, which fully reflects the social concern and social responsibility of contemporary pragmatics.Based on some new achievements in pragmatics research and the special theme of the 17th Conference, this paper summarizes the new trends of inclusiveness and integrativeness of pragmatics, in particular those frontier topics and research issues closely related to the diverse social reality, hoping to guide and inspire future research of pragmatics in China and further provide essential societal pragmatic evidence for social management.
