A New Method of Critical Discourse Analysis-Proximization

With the development of Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA),some trends,like interdisciplinarity,dynamics and pluralism,are becoming more and more apparent in this field.CDA scholars have made constant exploration and innovation via interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research.For instance,Cap (2014),one of the leading cognitive-pragmatic linguists,developed a new methodology for CDA,namely proximization.This paper,through tracking Cap's latest research,interprets the basic tenets,theoretical foundations,research methods and prospective applications of proximization.It also discusses the contributions and limitations of applying proximization in CDA.
