Structural Constraints of SVCs: PTS, Situation Properties and Denotation of VP

Though sharing the same form of "VP+VP", SVCs display various syntax-semantic structures, thus there must be some semantic determinants.In the current literature, the studies on structural constraints of SVC centre around the correspondence between word order and temporal order of events.There are also some studies revealing the structural constraint of VP's boundedness.Based on PTS, this article proposes the VP's denotation-based Constraint and the Situation-properties-based Structural Constraint which develops from the current studies on the VP's boundedness.Because of these three structural constraints, different syntax-semantic structures can share the same form of "VP+VP".
