Big Translation in the Era of Big Data-Issues in Translating Chinese Classics

  • 摘要:在中国文化走出去的战略实施过程中,中华文化经典的对外译介与传播具有特殊的重要性。随着信息时代的发展和大数据时代的来临,文化经典的译介与传播也迎来了新的机遇。本文认为,可以大数据技术为导向,建立目标读者的需求分析机制及评价机制。而如谷歌翻译这样的大数据平台,也能为整合翻译资源、节省翻译成本创造条件。最后,从单纯的"语际翻译"转向多模态的"符际翻译",并建构多元化的传播模式,也有利于国外受众通过多种渠道了解和爱上中国文化,从而提高中国文化的软实力。

    Abstract:Translation and dissemination of Chinese classics is of special significance in the "Going Global" process of Chinese culture.In the era of information, the application of big data technology will offer great opportunity for the significant project.Based on the discussion of text selection, translation mode, and communication mechanism, etc, this paper argues that the reader-oriented demand analyses and evaluation mechanism should be established with the use of big data.Big data platforms like "Google Translate" help integrate translation corpus, saving the cost of translation.The intersemiotic translation mode and a multifaceted cultural promotion strategy will benefit us spreading Chinese culture overseas through various channels, elevating the international reputation of Chinese culture.
